Performance

Over the years Taishan Capital’s top people have, in their respective posts, successfully completed many deals and profitable investments, totalling several billions of U.S. dollars. To date, Taishan Capital has itself been involved in a number of successful financing deals, amounting to over US$500 million equivalent so far. Our clients have been successful, growing companies, Chinese and Western, engaged in varied businesses, including pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, genetics, consumer products, IT software, agriculture, light manufacturing, healthcare, real estate, energy, securities, insurance, and others. In these deals we have acted as financial advisers, arranged venture capital or private equity investments, and set up several new Sino-foreign joint ventures in China and overseas.

Our smallest transaction so far has been a US$2.5 million private placement, and the largest a US$48 million project financing package. We have a number of deals in the pipeline in the US$5-20 million range; several ongoing projects are much larger. Two of our deals have received acclaim in international circles -- the amalgamation of the outsourcing operations of three multinational groups, Tata (India), Uniware (China), and Microsoft (U.S.A.), into a new Chinese joint venture, and the acquisition of a Chinese CD ROM manufacturer by Bertelsmann AG, one of Europe’s largest media conglomerates.
